Labor, Birth, and Postpartum

What Makes Us Different

  • A lot of things, but the one women notice first is the time. Our appointments are about an hour long. You are not rushed in and out. You have time to ask questions, talk through concerns, and build a true relationship with the midwives caring for you. We also bring together evidence-based practice and traditional midwifery wisdom, with a strong focus on informed consent, emotional support, and individualized care from the first visit through postpartum.

Our credential is also recognized and supported by Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), the International Confederation of Midwives, the Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA), and the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC).

  • Yes. We believe care means the whole person. We provide emotional support, education, and relationship-centered care throughout your entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience.

  • We offer IV therapy, oxygen, water birth, fetal monitoring, breastfeeding support, golden hour support, sterile water injections for labor back pain, early gender DNA testing, and suturing with lidocaine if needed.

  • Yes. We love working alongside doulas and are happy to talk through how the roles complement each other if you're considering hiring one.

  • A doula provides emotional and physical support during labor. A midwife is a healthcare provider who offers clinical care throughout your entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Both are wonderful with different roles in the birth room.

Transfers

  • Your safety and your baby's safety always come first. If a higher level of care becomes the safest option during pregnancy or labor, we transfer with compassion and stay with you through that process. We never leave you.

  • Refund policies depend on the timing and reason for transfer. Labor and birth fees are generally non-refundable once labor care has begun. We're happy to walk through the specifics with you.

Fees and Payment

  • We don't directly bill insurance, but we're happy to provide documentation you can submit to your provider for potential reimbursement.

β€œI was endlessly appreciative of the experience, thoroughness, empathy, and informed care I received during my time with Utah Birth Suites. I can’t imagine having pregnancy care any other way, all the midwives I’ve interacted with are so kind and caring.”
